CrossFit Christmas Schwag


I’m still in disbelief, but it would appear that December is already upon us!  You know that that means…. CHRISTMAS PREZZIES!

But what to buy for your CrossFit lovin’ pals and significant others?!  Such a dilemma.  Lucky for you, I’m here to help!  Here are some really cool CrossFit oriented gift ideas you can use for the fitness enthusiasts on your Christmas List:

**How about some new and trendy CrossFit duds?   Check out Life As Rx. com for some innovative and sassy clothing options.  Or, you can go online to the CrossFit Store and check out their selection of tees and other goodies.

**And for your CrossFitting girlfriend or wife?  She might just love some CrossFit jewellery!  (Nope, it’s not too good to be true.)  For starters, a Sterling Silver Kettlebell necklace is just one of the many cool baubles she can tote… Go ahead and have a peek at what has to offer.

**Exercising outdoors is a LOT more complicated when you live in this “great Canadian weather roulette” region.  To help take the guesswork out of an outdoor workout, try gifting your loved one some Yak Trax!  As previously mentioned by Cam, MEC just so happens to carry them…  But you better hurry, as they sell out fast!

**We all like to stay limber, so how about purchasing a lovely Foam Roller for your friend?  Better yet, you can purchase an accompanying Foam Roller Handbook to help give them ideas of how to use it. They’re great for for warmups, cool downs, and even for a conversation-starter.  (Just ask Coach Scoots! 😉  ) Plus, they’re almost as good as a massage…

Today’s Workout:

Buy-in – Dynamic movement, coaches choice – get the whole body moving and warm for the WOD!

WOD:  “Run Cindy Run!”

This is an adaptation of the famous workout “Cindy” – which is as many rounds as possible of 5 pullups, 10 pushups, and 15 squats in 20 minutes.  We’ve kept the same reps as in the original Cindy but spiced the workout up with some fun 400m laps to keep the heart pumping!  Keep in mind that at the top end, this is 10 rounds of Cindy (meaning 50 pullups, 100 pushups, 150 squats) so consider scaling if you are not used to high volumes of these exercises.  Enjoy.

Elite – for time:

  • 400m run
  • 1 round of Cindy (5 pullups, 10 pushups, 15 squats)
  • 400m run
  • 2 rounds of Cindy
  • 400m run
  • 3 rounds of Cindy
  • 400m run
  • 4 rounds of Cindy

Zone 3 – scale to 3 pullups, 6 pushups, 9 squats per round of Cindy

Zone 2 – assisted pullups and/or scale reps in each round

Zone 1 – scale as needed

Cash-Out – stretch pecs, lats, calves, quads
