It’s ya boi Young Bladez aka Pimp GHD aka Bun Behind The Neck Jerks. This week we have one of the most influential duos of ALL TIME, The Underground Kingz aka UGK.
UGK consists of two of the most influential rappers to ever come out of the south, Pimp C and Bun B. The two men hailing from Port Arthur, and Houston, Texas are partially responsible for the chopped and screwed sound. UGK has been featured on some of the biggest rap hits of the early 2000’s such as Jay z’s “Big Pimpin’” and Three 6 Mafia’s “Sippin’ on Some Syrup”. 2000 was a major year for UGK, bringing them into the commercial spotlight. In 2001 they released their most commercially successful album, Dirty Money. In 2007 Pimp C lost his life to an overdose of Codeine cough syrup and complications of sleep apnea, the same exact cause of death of his mentor, DJ Screw, fell victim.
