You made it through the month of Strict pullups and it is now time to see if you have built strength and improved. Next time you are in the gym, make sure to retest your max set with a “perfect hollow body” position. take a look at the previous post to refresh your memory on the tips for strict pullups Please put your scores on the the sheet so I can analyze the results. You have until Thursday, Nov. 7th to retest.
Since we are on a roll with doing movements strict, we are not going to test STRICT SHOULDER PRESS!
Tips for the shoulder press:
- Start with your feet directly under your hips, this is the strongest position to press from
- Start with the bar directly on your shoulders, not clavicle so you are not holding the weight in your hands
- Screw your feet into the floor to create torque and set the pelvis/hips
- Keep your glutes tight the whole lift
- Don’t lean back as you press!
