Holiday Spice Balls
Servings: 12 balls
These Holiday Spice Balls are similar to Cocoa and Coconut Snacks, but the addition of cinnamon and cardamom are perfect for the season. Using pumpkin pie spice, if you have it on hand, would be very festive as well.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups walnuts
- 4-6 dates
- 1/2 cup dried apricots
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoons ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Process everything in the food process until it comes together in a sticky paste-like consistency. Form into balls and refrigerate.

Buy In – Snatch pulls 5 x 3 reps increasing weight each set
- Work up to the weight you are using for the workout and higher
- Focusing on hitting full extension of the hips before the pull
WOD – “Snatching Diane”
5 rounds for time of:
- Snatch, 10 reps (95lbs/135lbs)
- Handstand Push-ups, 10 reps
- Rest 1 minute between rounds
Zone 4 – scale HSPU to 1 ab mat
Zone 3 – scale snatch to 75lbs/105lbs
Zone 2 – scale HSPU as needed, but stay inverted. Scale snatch weight as needed
Zone 1 – Scale HSPU to pushups and rounds as needed
Cash Out – MWOD 32
Test: Squat and dip and drive like a push press
MWod: 2 min each calf
2 min each hip in lunge
2 min each hamstring
Retest: squat/run/jump/ pain?
