Check out this video of an athlete doing Grace in 1:29. That is 30 clean and jerks (AKA – ground to overhead) for time.

He is a great athlete, but his form starts to degrade as he gets fatigued and he doesn’t set up for the clean the same as in the beginning reps. Don’t get me wrong, his form does not degrade too bad in the workout. I wanted to bring it to your attention as you prep for the workout. This is a common trend on pulling movements under fatigue. This is not something that we want to see in our boxes. We want to see quality reps from beginning to end. Every rep, make sure your setup position is correct before beginning. There is a difference between training and competition. You are all training, and when you train, you want to have quality reps. Don’t sacrifice your form for a better time. You only have one back, so you want to take care of it. If you train with quality reps, you will compete with quality reps. Just take a look at Lucas in competition, he never lets his form degrade when he competes and this is because he practices virtuosity when he trains.
Enjoy Grace!
