April’s skill of the month is the overhead squat. The overhead squat is a fundamental CrossFit movement. It is a true test of strength, mid-line stability and flexibility. We are testing the max weight you can lift with perfect form (of course) at the beginning of the month. Please make sure to post your score up on the board.
What is perfect form?
- Maintaining midline stability throughout the whole movement
- Active shoulders while holding the bar overhead
- Keeping the elbows locked out
- Chest up tall
- Driving the knees out while hitting a squat below parallel
- Keeping your heels on the ground!
