Today’s Workout:
Buy In – 4 rounds of: 1 deadlift, 1 drop clean, 1 hang power clean, 1 push press (all with bar only). Demonstrated first by coach and done as a group for the first round for corrections.
Follow this up with 4 sets of 3 power clean to push press (or push jerk) practice, working up towards the weight you will use in the workout.
WOD – “6 minutes of Grace”
This workout is an interval style session designed to get you comfortable with performing a power clean into a push press or push jerk. This is the fastest way to get the bar overhead in two movements and will be very effective at improving your time whenever “floor to overhead” is specified.
Elite – 6 intervals of 20 seconds work, 40 seconds rest for total reps of:
- Floor to overhead/power clean + push press/push jerk (95/135)
Zone 4 – scale to 75/115
Zone 3 – scale to 55/95
Zone 2 – scale to 45/65
Zone 1 – scale as needed.
*Coaches scale movements if necessary (i.e. perform push press only or deadlift only etc.).
Games Prep – scale up to 115/155 only if you can get 4+ reps in 20 sec
Cash Out – 5 x 1 min on, 1 min off for max total double unders (add all double unders completed over all intervals of work together)
