1. How did you find CrossFit? – CrossFit found me by way of Deanna. For my Birthday one year I received a Booklet of exercises and workouts to keep me working out while she was away.
2. What is your favourite CrossFit exercise or WOD? I don’t have a favourite, I love/hate them all. I could easier say my least favourite – running, double unders.
3. How long have you been CrossFitting for? I have been (serious) Crossfitting for about 15 months. Prior to that I was working out on my own for about a year. I was using the workouts made for me, but I usually chose the shortest and easiest work outs. Can’t do that in a class.
4. What do you do for a living? Hobbies
5. What are your hobbies? In the summer I do a lot of gardening and spending as much time outdoors as I can. I like to paint pictures – flowers – I make all my own cards. I love cooking ( and eating) My husband and I like to camp, fish and hunt. Yes I am a redneck, I own a gun. During the winter months I usually have a couple of crocheting and/or knitting projects on the go.
6. What are your goals? At this point in my life my goals are to enjoy my life. A big part of that is staying healthy and keeping as fit as I can so that I can continue doing my hobbies. I would like to be able to do more than 1 unassisted pull-up and ring dips.
7. Why do you CrossFit? My husband tells me every day how great I look. If that isn’t a great reason I don’t know what is. I also love how strong I have become, I want to keep that strength. There is a family history of Osteoporosis, CrossFit will help with that. I have maintained my weight for the past 3 years. I enjoy the atmosphere of the classes. I like all the young people I have met.
8. Any advice for future CrossFitter’s? Just do It. It is not like anything else you have tried. There is great support from the Coaches and CrossFitters in the classes. They all want you to succeed.

Yay! CrossFit mom – the one we have to thank for making crossfit zone even a remote possibility 😉
PS. check out your boy turts – crossfit mainpage http://www.crossfit.com . Yep, I’m certifiable.
See you all tomorrow, looking forward to some press corrections!!
Yay CrossFit Mom!! I’ve just given my Dad a bunch of workouts to try and am hoping that he’ll catch the xfit bug…still working on my brother and am hoping to maybe make Sundays a crossfit family day!
Saw the pic Turts…the shirt sure stands out!! Also saw your comments…good feedback!
Way to go, Turts! And Sandy, you’re amazing. There were lots of mornings that it was just you and I, duking it out over the WODs!
I, too, have gotten my mom into doing CrossFit workouts. She does them both with me, and on her own. But so far I can’t convince her to come do them at the gym! But she’s amazing, and it was her who inspired me to be fit in the first place. She’s 62, and has been working out hard core/5 days a week since I was a baby. Go Mom!
Awesome profile. It’s great seeing people of various ages doing CrossFit and staying healthy.
Way to go Cam! I’m with KDF, the shirt does stand out, it’s the way I found you in the pic.
Keep up the great work Sandy. You are an inspiration!
