Physical training does not only make you look better, it can reduce the amount of time your body takes to heal from injury. On of the greatest examples of this is Canadian gymnast Kyle Shewfelt. Kyle won a gold medal at the 2004 olympic games in Athens, Greece. After a short hiatus, he got back into training in 2006 with hopes to compete again in the 2008 Olympics. During a competition in 2007, Kyle landed funny and ended up breaking both of his legs. He was flown back home to Canada where he underwent surgery and the rehabilitation process.Skipping a few of the details, which can be found here, Kyle made it to the Beijing Olympics. A short 11 months after his accident.
A trained body has the efficiency to move around nutrients, build on damaged tissue and “bounce back” a lot faster than someone who is sedentary. I have personally experienced this and can attest to an increased well being from having my body “in tune”. You do not need to be a top performing athlete to experience these benefits, but the little things we do to get ourselves back in the routine of movement and well being, helps us back to our regular improved self.
Great news the Zone Crew shirts are in and they look great!!! We ended up ordering a more expensive shirt this year than expected. We set the donation amount of $20 prior to ordering the shirts and that doesn’t cover the cost. If you so kindly can donate more than $20 that would be greatly appreciated! Please bring your Cash (only) in ASAP to make sure you get a shirt. THANKS!!!!
