CrossFit Sectionals Meeting!

Hello all…

The Crossfit Games sectionals are just 12 days from starting and we need to get sorted on a number of things!  If you didn’t know already, the format is that one workout will be posted each week for 6 weeks, with the best overall performers gaining an entry into the Canada West Regional Championship.  This is the real deal folks and the first step in trying to qualify for the international Crossfit Games that will be held in California in July.

In preparation for the Sectionals we are going to have a meeting on Sunday at 930am for anyone who is interested in competing in the posted workouts.

(Check out this video from last year’s international competition – http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/Games2010_RecapPromoSD.mov )!!!

Now here’s the fun part – ANYONE who completes the workouts at the prescribed level could potentially help qualify our Affiliate team for the Regional.  So even if you don’t want to actually compete yourself, you could help the rest of us get there!

Here are the specific details for Sunday:

When – Sunday March 6, 930am at the Zone

Who – Anyone who is interested in participating in the Sectionals.  You should be comfortable handling our usual workouts at the Zone 3 or higher level.

What – we will be discussing the specifics of the competition (there are certain days we are planning on doing the wods and guidelines for submission of scores) and how best to plan your training so that you put out your best effort.

RSVP to the comments if you are planning on coming and/or have questions about the whole deal (which of course we will be answering come Sunday).

Hope to see you out!

  1. hey sean, I think it is made up by Crossfit but it makes sense – it’s basically giving the info that the 21-15-9 refers to repetitions (which to us is obvious but to the outside observer maybe not..). “Rep rounds” therefore means that each exercise in the round will have the same repetition number and infers that as “rounds” one will complete all of the reps for all exercises in that round for that number of reps before moving on…

maybe way too much typing for really a short answer….!

  2. i will be there to see if there is any need for help with logistical concerns/judging/etc. i know you were worried that i was going to compete and therefore there would be no point in you coming out because i was going to kick your butt. i know it is not fair if i compete, so i will help out!

  3. I’m happy to help with any judging/facilitating with b, but have breakfast plans with my dad on Sunday morning so won’t be at the meeting! Let me know if there’s anything I can do.

  4. I’d like to take part in it all, but once again, Sundays are poop for me. Is there anyway of getting filled in Monday or the following week? If someone had a laptop I could Skype into the convo…

  5. I will also set up the webcam and have the live feed for others that want to tune in and can’t make it.

  6. Oh that’d be awesome! I might be in Van but I’d love to help the team in any way I can (aka probably in double unders & cheering only but I’m really good at those haha)

  7. I’m curious, I’ll be there for the meeting on Sunday, will either compete or help judge etc. But want to hear what the deal is before deciding.

  8. I am here for a while now (until Jul) so if there is something that I can help out with, please let me know!

  9. hey hey….unfortunately I’m still in toronto for another week , is there any way that someone could take notes for me? I wont be able to tune in cause it’s crazy here…. Miss you all!

  10. yeah good effort all round in the HP… great energy in the gym!

thanks to everyone who came out to the sectionals meeting – good lookin crew and this should be a really fun and exciting experience for us all.

if you missed out, we can fill you in as we go.
