I find it interesting that one of my main focuses as a CrossFit Kids Coach is finding methods for teaching kids better ways to define who they are. The thing is, I’ve noticed that this is something that most adults still need to learn, as well. We often get caught up in thinking our self-worth is defined by petty things; whether we’re thin or overweight, whether our paycheque is big or small, whether our clothes are trendy or out-of-style, whether we have a lot of friends or none at all. But what if we defined ourselves solely by our determination and resulting ability?
Barring the fact that this video was originally designed in anticipation of the CrossFit games (which are now over for the year), this group of people has the right idea about who they are and what their worth is. Check it out:

Buy-in: Get warm BEFORE class, then:
Snatch Tech
- 3 sets of 3 reps Power Snatch
- 3 sets of 3 Snatch Balance
- 3 sets of 3 hang Squat Snatch
- If new to the snatch, stick with one variation and work on it
- 18 min time limit
WOD: Spindy
This is a new “spin” on the classic WOD “Cindy”… (get it – Spindy) and the soon-to-be-famous WOD “Carly” which was made up during the 1School1Day event by Carly and May. It will be a 10 minute AMRAP as opposed to the usual Cindy time limit of 20 minutes. Enjoy!
10 min amrap of:
- 5 ctb pullups
- 10 double crunch
- 15 squats
- 30 reps per round, count total reps
Zone 3 – scale to regular pullups
Zone 2 – scale to assisted pullups, option of doing situps instead of double crunch
Zone 1 – scale as needed
Cash-Out: partner hamstring and quad stretches
