Individual Schedule and Workouts Released!

Big news, people!  As we begin the actual week of the 2012 CrossFit Games, things are kicking up into high gear.  Especially with the early release of the Individual Events schedule!  For those of you who are wanting to watch Coach Scoots kick butt, take note…

CrossFit just announced the schedule and majority of the Individual Events for the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games.

This is the earliest release of events in CrossFit Games history. In previous years, competitors learned of most events just a couple days in advance, and sometimes just an hour—or even seconds—before (like in the 2010 finals).

In 2012, we will see several new movements, including: split snatches with alternating legs required, bar muscle-ups, football sled drives, and a medicine ball throw from a GHD.

Some classics have returned. The 20-foot rope is back. The track is back. And we have another ladder – this time it’s a clean ladder.

Like last year’s Games, athletes get points for their finishing order and the most points wins. The same 100-point scoring table will be used for most events. There will also be a 50-point scoring table for a few events. For full details, see the Scoring Page.

On Friday and Saturday mornings the athletes in one heat will compete in a 50-point event, then reset and compete in a 100-point event before the athletes in the next heat begin.

All of the individual competitors will remain in the competition until Saturday afternoon. After the Clean Ladder, there will be cuts after each event. First to 36, then to 24, then to 18 for the final which right now is only listed as three 100 point scored events.

All released events will be posted to the Workout Page. Check there often, as that page will be updated throughout the week. We’ll have articles detailing each new announcement, but the Workout Page will always have the complete listings of all events.
