What does it take?

What does it take to be a coach at the Zone? An awful lot, actually!

People who are interested in becoming a coach must submit a letter of intent, complete with what outstanding features they would bring to the members. After review from the coach they start the process of designing classes for the other coaches to participate in. These classes give us an idea of the applicants knowledge of CrossFit principles and programming.

From there, apprentices must help out in a minimum of one class per week, preferably with different coaches at different times to gain the most exposure.

As you progress there are various tests (both written and practical) as well as constant foundation movement sessions where you will have to provide proficiency, knowledge, and an ability to help identify and fix movement errors.

Finally an apprentice must run three different classes on their own where a coach must observe and give recommendations/critiques. This is just a short summary of what our apprentice program consists of. If you are interested in becoming an apprentice or want to hear more about the program please email admin@crossfitzone.ca

It is through this extensive program that we try to provide our community with the highest level of coaching.  If you would like to give us feedback on any of our coaches, it is welcomed.  Please do so by emailing admin@crossfitzone.ca
