Wolf Cup III

What the heck is a “Wolf Cup”, you may be asking yourself?

Well, I’ll tell you.  It’s an opportunity to get involved in something for a good cause, and potentially kick some competitive butt, too!

On Saturday, June 16th ’12, Khyl Orser’s Wolf Cup III will be taking place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  This is a 2-day tournament of 4-on-4 Road Hockey, with the first day as a round robin event, followed by the second day as the final playoffs.  This event is all about fundraising for one of our own local athletes with Olympic sized dreams, Khyl Orser. The money earned through this tournament and subsequent BBQ goes towards training and racing costs for Khyl.  It’s a lofty dream, but a great local cause!  Most importantly, this is just a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family and play some Road Hockey!

Here is a little bit more about Khyl, and his cause:

“The third annual Wolf Cup is helping to build awareness and raise money in support of a local athlete and his athletic aspirations.  Khyl Orser works hard at three different part time jobs, is currently in school to obtain his Certificate in Business Administration to go along with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, as well as studying for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam.  And on top of all of that, he is training full time for long track speed skating!  Training should be the number one priority for Khyl, but a focus on funding the training, racing, and travel for races is usually at the forefront things.  The Wolf Cup is a helpful fundraising method for Khyl, and it is currently in its third year.  This event is designed to help Khyl ease some of that fund raising stress, so he can focus on heading toward potential Olympic Gold.  So, how can you get involved and help him out?

  1. Sign up a team or as an individual and check out the Wolf Cup III Registration Page
  2. Volunteer your time and/or services to the event and email for further information at korser@uvic.ca
