“Celebrities….They’re Just Like Us!”

Bathing suit by Roxy, body by CrossFit??

Excerpts from the original article in Independent Woman

In the spirit of the annoyingly irrelevant “Us Magazine” tabloid feature article of the same name, we thought we would draw your attention to the fact that celebrities are helping keep CrossFit in the public eye.  (You can thank Deanna for  passing on this titillating article! :P)

Apparently the ticket to Jessica Biel’s pre-wedding body is CrossFit, and she’s touting the benefits of working out at CrossFit LA hub, Petranek Fitness.  Jessica says, “There is so much pressure to look a certain way in this town. But it’s nice to have a little meat on you, and I hope I inspire women to appreciate their muscular calves!” The article went on to say that, “Thanks to high-octane fitness regime CrossFit, paired with a healthy-eating Paleo diet, Jessica is not just fighting fit for action movie roles, but has a figure that men the world over swoon over.” (Gee whiz!  You wanna see swoon-worthy bodies??  Forget Hollywood: I say these journalists should come to the CrossFit Games!)

Trust someone like Jessica Biel to make the Paleo diet sound glamorous.  She says that, “The healthy-eating plan is incredibly helpful; it just leans you down and slims you up and takes that little layer of fat, skin, and water-weight right off your body.” Base your diet on garden vegetables, especially greens, lean meats, nuts, seeds and some starch. Avoid sugar.” ….You and I know it’s a little more complicated than that, of course.  But I’m sure the general un-educated public gets the drift.
