Holy Cow! It seems that I merely blinked, and here we already are at the beginning of July! That means that there’s less than 2 weeks left before Coach Scoots heads down to Cali for the CrossFit Games and his second chance at being the Fittest Man in the World.
I’d say that deserves a major rally of support, wouldn’t you? You may have seen the bearded Teen Wolf around the gym increasingly more often, training like a madman and grunting with maximum effort. He’s ramping up his final preparations, and I’m sure his excitement is building up to its crescendo. I know it is for us spectators, anyways…
The CrossFit Games season will come to a head on July 13-15 when 100 of the fittest men and women will throw down at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. If you’re not one of the people who is travelling down to cheer them on in person, you can watch online via the CrossFit Games site.
In the meanwhile, the next time you see Lucas in the gym, give him an encouraging pat on the bum and remind him that you’re rooting for him. (It’s okay to pat him on the back too, but obviously a lot less exciting for all involved… 😉 ) Let’s buoy him up with our enthusiasm, and give him a reminder that the Zoners will be watching him with anticipation and pride!

WOD -“Thrust of the Dead”
21-15-9 Reps for time:
Deadlift (155/225lbs)
Thruster (65/95lbs)
You will only have one barbell for the workout. You will have to change your weights in between exercises.
Zone 3 – scale DL to 125/185lbs
Zone 2 – scale DL to 95/135lbs, thruster to 45/65lbs
Zone 1 – scale as needed
Cash Out – Jog around the block, then hamstring stretch with band, couch stretch, pigeon pose
