Meet Billie Jane

Meet our newest Apprentice coach Billie Jane!  Her classes are Monday and Thursday 5:30pm.

Nick Names: Mata Hari (courtesy of Beast) or just simply Billie or BJ (props to Angry Kitten)

Favourite WOD: “Everything But the Kitchen Sink” and “Tabata This”.

Goat: OHS and HSPU.

How did you get into CrossFit? I wanted to try CF when I was living in TO a few years ago but spent waaay too much energy on other ‘competing priorities’. When I moved to Victoria in June 2011, cosmically the stars aligned. I settled into a flat conveniently located two buildings up from the box… I dropped in for an intro sesh with Coach Sean and, well, there you have it!

How long have you been doing CrossFit for? Since August 2011

Benchmark PR: Baseline 4:56

Hobbies: I’m pretty much game for anything active, anytime, anywhere – especially outdoorsy things these days (rain or shine, baby!)

Goals:  1) To smile through every WOD, May Flower style; 2) To be worthy of a ring from the Guardians of the Universe and join the Green Lantern Corps.

Today’s Workout:

Buy In – 3 rounds of 10 jump squats, 10 burpees, 10 double crunch

WOD – “Tabata Stew”

8 Intervals of each:

Air Squat
1 min rest
Push Press 75/115
1 min rest
Abmat situp
1 min rest
Sumo Deadlift High Pull 75/115
1 min rest
Power Clean 75/115

Score = total reps

Zone 3 – scale bar to 65/95
Zone 2 – scale bar to 55/75
Zone 1 – scale as needed

Cash Out – full body foam roll
