Movin’ On Up! (Up the street, that is…)

Something tells me Adam is going to make a helpful teammate today…

You know how, when you move, the first people you always call up for help are your strongest, most able-bodied friends who have proven themselves consistently willing to support you in the past?  Well…. we have a whole gym FULL of friends like that!

This is why we’re going to combine fitness with fun AND practicality for Friday’s classes.  You guessed it: You’re all going to help us move!  Hang onto your hats, because this is where CrossFit’s motto of promoting functional movements that prepare you for real-life tasks will be put to the test…

Today’s Workout

Buy-In: Pick some strong teammates and make up a Superhero themed name for yourselves!  (Coaches, divide class up into groups of varying numbers according to how many people are in attendance.)

Then, do 3 rounds of:

10 Double Crunch
5 Jump Squats
3 Inchworms

WOD: “Get Moving!” Working in teams, do the following for time:

Pick a pile of equipment. You and your teammates will be moving this entire pile of equipment from point-to-point, starting here at The Zone and finishing up the street at 708 Pembroke St. in our new location.

  • You may carry the equipment any way you like.
  • You may split up the work any way you like.
  • You may take as many trips as you like.
  • You may jog or run between the two locations on your return trips to pick up more equipment.
  • Just remember: you’re doing this for time, so be efficient!

When carrying heavy loads, please be sure to use proper form.  Protect your back with good posture, and lift objects the way we’ve carefully taught you!  Respect traffic, and work together.  And most of all, HAVE FUN!
